SRM student lands Rs 41.6 lakh job with Microsoft, over 4000 placements made this year

Eclipsing last year's impressive count of 3,020 offers from four top IT companies (TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro), a staggering 4,749 offers have been made to the graduating class of 2020 students of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) this placement season.

More than 600 companies have visited the campus since the placement season started on July 22 and over 6,500-plus offers have been made.

More companies are expected to come as the placement season will continue till April/May 2020.

This year, the highest offer made on the campus was Rs 41.6 lakhs per annum by Microsoft, a release from SRMIST said today.

Other top recruiters included Amazon (18 offers of Rs 32 lakh pa), Barclays (25 offers of Rs 10 lakh pa) and startup Udaan (four offers of Rs 30 lakh pa).

Organizations like Veritas and Pay Pal have made internship linked placement offers.

At the conclusion of 'Day One' processes, TCS made 1,437 offers ('Ninja Track'), Infosys 1,315, Cognizant 1,175, and Wipro 822.

Apart from this, TCS has made 183 offers under 'Digital Track' (Rs seven lakhs pa), according to Director, Career Centre SRMIST, Sriram S Padmanabhan.

He said this is the highest number of offers made by these four companies on any single campus in the country.
