Azmia Riaz

In this world riddled with artists and designers who celebrate colours, Vishnu Roy daydreams a world of darkness in art. And what a brilliant job he has done so far. The concept artist, illustrator and graphic designer ventured into the busy world of design to create surreal and conceptual art. Through his freelance work, Vishnu creates experiences that help brands stand out in a sea of interesting design. He discovered the deep love he had for art when he participated in drawing competitions as a child. He says, “I used to draw things without really knowing what I was doing. Eventually, I started using art as a tool to express the world how I perceived it.”

So he taught himself to draw by bringing to life the incredibly dark undertones that ruled his mind. He also tried to stretch his own limits to a bring to life a colourful palette that would enable him to channel the weird and gross monsters that he wanted the world to see to life. He says, “I like to experiment with most digital art forms. I have a keen fascination to draw monsters and spiritual beings, mostly females. I take inspiration from everyday things that happen and mix them up with my dreams to chalk out reality. “

Today, Vishnu’s name is at the tip of every major designer’s tongue who wants to explore the darker side of art. He was inspired by artists like Junji Ito, Shintaro Kago, Louis Van Baarle, Nick Sullo and Billelis.
He says, “I blend multiple tools to conclude an artwork. It is never about a certain way of doing it.” Vishnu finds a thousand ways to put the best of himself and his work out there and now the world of design is watching.
