The Central Crime Branch has summoned the three professors named in IIT student Fathima Latheef's suicide note. The CCB has already questioned the father about his version of the events and the city commissioner AK Viswanathan also conducted an enquiry on campus a few days ago.

The CCB has called upon Sudarsan Padmanabhan, Milind Brahme and Hemachandran Karah to appear for questioning today. Fathima's father Abdul Latheef recently told the media that his daughter had explicitly mentioned Padmanabhan and that the screenshot with the names of the other two professors was fake. However, all three have been summoned for questioning by the police.

The Kerala Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan has written to HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to initiate an immediate probe into the case. "I spoke to her parents and they alleged that their daughter took the extreme step after being mentally harassed by her faculty member, Sudarshan Padmanabhan, who is currently working as an associate professor of Philosophy, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Madras," the minister said in his letter.

"Those people who are responsible for her death must be punished. Let the truth come out at the earliest. Hope you would act swiftly in this regard," he added.
