Vishakapatnam NEET centres hire goldsmiths to remove earrings of candidates not following dress code

Following a proper dress code to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test(NEET) which was conducted in the city on Sunday, it was a tough time for many aspirants who had to stand in hot sun, while the centre officials are checking every student before allowing them into the exam hall. On Sunday, the examination conducted in 27 test centres was done peacefully.

At many centres, the management have arranged a goldsmith to cut the earrings of any student who appeared for the exam without following the dress code. Even the parents of many aspirants removed ear rings, watch in the last minute, after the centre did not allow them.

With sweltering heat conditions prevailing in the city, many students had to stand in long queue waiting for their turn to be checked by the security before entering into the exam hall. At one of the centre in the city, parents went with an argument with the management to immediately go with the checks, else the students would become sick standing in hot sun. "There were no shades at the centre and our children had to stand in hot sun for more than 15-20 minutes. It was only after we got into an argument, the centre management made the process fast", said Jaya, resident of Maddilapalem.
