Assam and Bihar Floods 2019: Here's how you can help the victims

EdexLive Desk

The monsoon of 2019 was not quite a happy one for the country, especially for Assam and Bihar. Floods are causing havoc in both states. In Assam, the death toll has touched 64 and the number is as high as 102 in Bihar. That's not just it. Over 15 Lakh people have been displaced, many have lost their homes and property. Almost all of the Kaziranga National Park is flooded and the animals are fleeing for their lives.

Athlete Hima Das has donated half her salary to the flood relief. Also, actor John Abraham and cricketers Suresh Raina and Virender Sehwag too have done their bit. But this is obviously not enough.

If you wish to help the people of Assam and Bihar, here's how you can do it.

1) Donatekart

Pondicherry based disaster relief NGO Rapid Response has started a campaign in the online donation platform Donatekart. Through this, you can contribute necessities like dal, rice, sugar and oil to the Assam flood victims. A kilogram of rice only costs Rs 45. Yes, your contribution can be as small as that.
