A man attempted suicide in front of Naveen Niwas on Wednesday after failing to get his Plus II certificates even after a decade.

Police present near Chief Minister's residence rushed to the spot and stopped him. Rabindra Das (32) of Madhupur village in Mahanga reportedly appeared in the Plus II examination in Cuttack in 2008 but the result was withheld for unknown reasons. "I want my result and certificates. The officials are deliberately harassing me," Das said.

"Das approached the High Court in 2009. He also approached the consumer court, which imposed a fine on Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, for withholding his results. We will contact CHSE officials to collect details about the matter and will investigate further," Airport IIC Umakanta Pradhan said. Das was also being questioned to ascertain his grievances in detail.

Sources said he was working at a pharmacy in Madhupur village.
