Following the student clash at University College in Thiruvananthapuram, P T Thomas MLA demands a broader CBI probe by including similar campus clashes into the investigation. Speaking at a press conference, Thomas called for an in-depth inquiry into the PSC Rank list for KAP Battalion (Kasaragod) after three accused in the case, including Sivarenjith and Naseem, the first and second accused in the case respectively.

"The university incident has created a black mark in the history of Kerala's campus politics. Our campuses across the state have turned into safe havens for criminals. A thorough CBI inquiry will shed light into the issue," said Thomas.

Besides, the former Idukki MP demanded the strengthening of PSC examinations in the wake of University College incident.

"The reliability of PSC had a dent. How the exam is conducted and the allocation of marks has created several apprehensions among the public. The government has to regain its credibility through stringent measures," he said.

He also called for the creation of apex bodies in every college to bring down similar incidents in the future. "A coordination committee with parents and students along with the faculties is needed to clamp down campus violence across Kerala," added Thomas.
