Identity cards to be issued to teachers soon, confirms Bihar Government

Bihar government today announced that identity cards would be issued to teachers in the state soon.

Replying to calling attention notice of Independent member Devesh Chandra Thakur in the state legislative council, state education minister Krishnandan Prasad Verma said that identity cards had not been issued to teachers in the state.

Intervening during the minister's reply, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said that identity cards would be made available to teachers in the state soon. Modi said that government would definitely initiate steps for providing identity cards to teachers and non-teaching employees of primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in the state.

He said a database of government employees was being created. Once the database was ready, one could get full details of the employee concerned by pushing single key, he added.
