Madras Christian College administration conducted its Internal Complaints Committee probe into the recently surfaced sexual harassment allegations against the Zoology professor. The Committee has told students that they will submit their final report to the college administration on April 19.

After news of the allegations began to spread, the administration decided to set up the ICC headed by a senior female faculty member. One of the students said, "The college is maintaining complete confidentiality but we believe a lawyer and an alumni will also be part of the committee."

While unsure about the date of submission, Principal-in-charge, A Duraiaswamy said, "Right now, I know that the enquiry is done but I'm not sure about when the ICC will submit the report. We are expecting it shortly, as soon as it comes to us, we will let everyone know. For now we're very busy conducting exams for the studebts."

The students were promised complete anonymity and were encouraged to participate in the enquiry. The previous hearing was held last Saturday, on April 6 at the MCC School in Chetpet. However, the hearing was adjourned to Tuesday. While the male students have been standing along with their female counterparts all along, only the victims were asked to come to the meeting on Tuesday.

About 4-5 students are believed to have attended the enquiry. "After the meeting, the students said that they believe that final report will be in their favour," a student on campus said.

Last month, students came out with allegations against their professor in the Zoology department. According to the students, the professor had sexually harassed them during their class trip. After the allegations surfaced, some alumni also came out with similar allegations against the same professor. After student protests, the Principal constituted the ICC and initiated the probe.
