Gulburga University forced to postpone exams as question papers arrive late

Second, fourth and sixth semester examinations for BA, BSc, BCom, BSW, BCA, BBM and BBA of Gulbarga University which were to be held on May 23, have been postponed. The students came to know about the postponement of their examination when they came to the examination centres.

Registrar (Evaluation) of Gulbarga University D M Madri told Express that the printing of question papers for various examinations of Gulbarga University and transportation process of the question papers was entrusted to a Hyderabad-based printing press. The question papers of these examinations were to arrive to Kalaburagi on Tuesday night by 9 pm.

But the question papers arrived to Kalaburagi at 5 am on Wednesday. As it was difficult to transport the question papers to all the colleges under the jurisdiction of Gulbarga University within the stipulated time, the university postponed the examinations of the above said semesters of different courses. The dates of the examinations which were postponed would be intimated later, Madri said. To a question, the registrar (Evaluation) said that the university has warned the Hyderabad-based printing press that if such lapse occurs in future, the press would be blacklisted.
