Mumbai student bags People's choice award for design collection in New Zealand

Shreya Jain, a graduate from India’s prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), bagged the People’s Choice award for her spring summer collection – Tropical Confectionery at the iD International Emerging Designer Awards that was held this month in New Zealand’s student capital Dunedin. iD Dunedin Fashion event, witnessed an impressive 200 entries from all around the world, with 43 finalists, representing 19 countries participating for the fashion show.

For her exemplary fashion sense and dynamic styling, Shreya won the coveted Otago Polytechnic People’s Choice Award. Her spring-summer collection catered to Women Ready to Wear- high fashion apparel and accessories. 

Shreya Jain, from Mumbai, said, “Design to me is very personal and is a way of expressing my feelings. I am thrilled to be able to showcase my designs at such a grand level with such renowned judging panel and talented people from across the globe.”

The Otago Polytechnic’s Fashion Design School in New Zealand is one of the most reputed institutes. This institution is acknowledged for its international opportunities, industry connections and providing a platform to develop individual style and identity as a fashion designer.
