Tripura youth first one from the district selected to climb Mt Everest

Debasish Das, 25, of Satmura of Belonia under South Tripura District has been selected for the climb to highest peaks of Mount Everest in Nepal next year.

He is the first from Tripura who has been selected by one of the premier expedition company in Nepal namely Seven Summit Travels and Tours.

Das has been working in Indian Air Force as an administered cum adventure and high rope instructor.

In a letter today from Mr Thaneswar Guragai, Manager, Seven Summit Travels, and Tours of Kathmandu informed that the cost for full board service to climb Mount Everest with seven summit treks is 28 lakhs.

Das is planning to go to Kathmandu on April 5, 2019, and after the completion of all government process within April 8, 2019, the expedition will be officially started.

There will be seven members in the team and they have to walk and climb 20 km of Himalayans roads in an average every day to reach the highest peaks of Everest via the south side of Nepal and total 8,848 meters of highest peaks will be cover by 60 days, the letter stated.
