Medical student from Bhopal commits suicide in hostel room

The girl committed suicide by injecting anesthesia while in her room, police have found a suicide note but are refusing to divulge details

A post graduate student of a city-based private medical college allegedly committed suicide by injecting herself with a heavy dose of an anaesthetic, police said today.

Smriti Laharpure (32), a resident of Bhopal, was found dead in her hostel room at Index Medical College and it appears that she injected herself with the anaesthetic at around 1:30am today, Khudail Police Station in charge Hakam Singh Pawar said.

He said that a suicide note had been recovered but refused to divulge its contents.

The official said that, based on certain clues, a close friend of the deceased was being questioned.

The body had been sent for post mortem and further investigations were underway, Pawar said.
