Why choosing her favourite TED Talk is like choosing a favourite child for Elca Grobler

Seema Rajpal

Many might know Elca Grobler as the founder of My Choices Foundation, which has been working tirelessly since 2012, but not everyone knows that she is a TED fan. When we ask her to pick a favourite TED Talk, she grumbles and says, “It’s like choosing a favourite child!” But she does get around to picking the talks of Kavita Ramdas, Monica Lewinsky and the Anandi talks as some of her favourites. And when it comes to delivering her own, she believes that "the combination of credibility and the fact that what we do matters is what makes this platform a unique one.” And what she has been doing for the country since she shifted base from Australia to India, is definitely something that matters. But lasting change will only come, says Elca, when men also become a part of the solution. “This is not a feminist issue or a female issue, this is a human rights issue,” she concludes.
