The lady of Lady Andal School, Prema C Kumar, passes away

 The long-time correspondent of Lady Andal Venkatasubba Rao Higher Secondary School passed away this morning after a massive heart-attack at 8.01 am at her home in Chennai. She was 67 years old. Her body is being kept at the school premises in the Prayer Hall for mourning.

The great-grand niece of Lady Venkata Subba Rao and longtime correspondent of the Lady Andal School. She had last spoken to her younger brother in Washington DC late last night.

Over the years, Kumar has held various posts in the school and its many branches. Besides being the correspondent at the school, she was also the honorary general secretary in the Madras Seva Sedan and correspondent at the Madras Seva Sadan in Chetpet, Tambaram and Sri Muthu School.

Among the tributes, many called her a dynamic personality and one who will be dearly missed.

The cremation is scheduled to be at 6.30 pm today. Kumar was survived by three children - 49-year-old Karthik, 39-year-old Krithika and Keerthan.
