National TNAU Student of the Year award goes to the State president of All India Agricultural Students Association

P Sivaraj, a PhD student of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has received Student
of the year award 2016.


The national award, carrying a citation, was in recognition to his outstanding contribution for undertaking
students welfare activities and empowering the youth in Agriculture in the State of Tamil Nadu, a TNAU press release said, reported The New Indian Express.

TNAU offers 13 Undergraduate Degree Programs, 40 Graduate Degree Programs and 26 Doctoral Programs in 14 Colleges distributed in 11 campuses all over the state of Tamil Nadu

Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution CR Chaudhary presented the award to Sivaraj during the second "National Youth Convention of Agricultural Innovation in Sustainable Food Systems for Improving Rural livelihood: The Youth Perspective" held recently at Raichur in Karnataka, a TNAU release said.

Sivaraj is also the State president of All India Agricultural Students Association, it said.
