You've heard of wedding and fashion photographers quite often, but today, let us introduce you to a pet photographer. Meet Prathima Pingali, who is pursuing her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from Annapurna International School of Film and Media, Hyderabad. She started Pawparazzi Pet Photography (he second venture, the first one being Blue Butterfly, under which she photographs events) in February this year. It was actually her father, who is in the creative field himself, who encouraged her to pursue photography. "With Instagram, YouTube and other mediums, the world has started to lean towards the visual medium, that was what my father and I reasoned. I knew I had a good eye and a love for photography, so I decided to go where my heart takes me," says Pingali who will turn 22 next month.
So Pingali’s three weekends of a month are dedicated to assignments, which often take her to Pune as well. "I also include the family in the shoot, because they are an important part of a dog's life," says the young photographer. No prizes for guessing that one of the major challenges during her photo sessions is patience. Or should we say the lack of it? It's not easy to get pets to stay still for that perfect shot, but Pingali too is always determined to give her clients a picture-perfect photo, no matter what. Also, the lack of places where dogs are allowed is something she has to deal with and go the extra mile to find locations. Which is why from handling ten dogs at a photoshoot (which took six hours, by the way) to just one, she has done it all. And is prepared to take on a lot more projects, all for the love of pets and photography.
