Are your kids getting bored of sitting at home? Digital learning for kids need to be as engaging as possible and BYJU'S new app — Early Learn — in association with Disney promises to do just that. The new app is custom-made for children studying in classes ranging from LKG to Class III and all their content is interactive with famous Disney characters as their friends and guides. The e-learning portal launched its new product over a virtual meet on Tuesday.

While the videos and interactive games are not unheard of, what catches your eye are the worksheets that are converted to digital content in realtime. "Along with digital learning, kids need physical interaction as well. So we are going from digital to Phygital — Digital+Physical. What the kids do on the worksheets, be it colouring or tracing, is captured by the camera and the AI paints the on-screen image accordingly The worksheets are just normal sheets of paper but we use a mirror to help the camera look down and capture the gestures," explained Pramod Sharma, President, Technology and Products at BYJU'S. "This is where the storytelling and learning merge. Personalised learning journeys is what we are concentrating on. We need to fuel the curiosity of the children but at the same time be very careful about how to expose them to screen. We ask parents to limit their screen time as well. This is a shift from passive to active learning," he added.

Right from when you open the app, Disney characters greet you and take you on the learning journey. But it should not feel as taxing as formal education, said Vinay MR, Chief Content Officer, BYJU'S. Every video, song and game, even though fun and interactive, constantly teaches the children. "What you see on the app — the songs, rhymes and game — have carefully been curated and blended with the interactive content based on Disney characters which the kids already relate to. There are quizzes, videos, songs and rhymes and once they complete a task they get digital sticker books that are super fun," said Vinay.
