Realising the need to impact the scope of Entrepreneurship on the African continent, the All India Management Association acting inline to its 'India Africa Partnership', organised a two-day workshop at Parul University, Vadodara. Since its inception in 1957, the association has taken countless initiatives towards enhancing the scope of entrepreneurship among the youths of India. From the 21st to the 22nd of December, a workshop on Enterprise Development was held focusing on the African students studying under Parul University.
Extending their success within India, the All India Management Association, successfully put together this pilot program, with the support of various High Commissioners from East Africa, Southern Africa and Central Africa. More than 60 students took part in the programme, and experienced a rich and wide business exposure. This program, featuring some of the leading experts in the fields of management and entrepreneurship, inspired and motivated the students in the areas of business management, business incubation, project proposals and presentations.
Speaking at the workshop, were some of the leading experts in the Industry including, Dr Raj Agrawal Director AIMA, Dr J S Juneja Chairman AIMA, Arun Kapoor, Grace Reji and Rajiv Thakkar, President AIMA Baroda amongst others. “The best way for the business field to develop is for all the nations to come together aiding one another for a common growth, AIMA is always there to assist in nurturing the youth of Africa to develop entrepreneurship skills’’ said Dr Raj Agrawal, expressing the need of common knowledge sharing.
As part of the programme, the students visited the Amul Dairy factory in Anand, where all the students managed to get the first-hand exposure to large scale industries. To motivate the students, the organisers gave away tablets to four of the students who were successful in presenting their business proposal. "Our commitment and dedication as a University is directed towards finding the most effective means of developing the essential skills of entrepreneurship amongst all our students. I was more than delighted to learn that our international students made full use of this opportunity” shared Dr M N Patel, Provost Parul University.
