The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official announcement regarding the NEET-UG 2020 examination on August 21, 2019. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam for undergraduate courses will be conducted on May 3, 2020 in various centres across the nation, the notification stated.

The exam will be held in the pen-and-paper mode. Further, the result is scheduled to be released on June 4. The application process for the exam will begin from December 2, 2019, and is scheduled to close on December 31, 2019.

All the interested candidates can apply for the NEET-UG 2020 exam on the official website — ntaneet.nic.in. Candidates can download their admit cards from March 27, 2020.
 

What do you need to know about NEET?

The NEET exam pattern includes that it is a three-hour long exam which includes three sections — Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Out of the total 180 questions, 90 will be from Biology and 45 each from Physics and Chemistry. The eligibility criteria for the entrance exam for the MBBS/BDS courses in India is that all candidates who have passed Class XII exams are eligible to appear for NEET. To prepare for the exam one must read the entire Class XI and XII NCERT textbooks for the respective subjects. During the examination, every correct answer would fetch the candidate four marks and every incorrect answer results in a negative mark. Questions that are not attempted will not have any penalty marks.

For 2019, the NTA conducted the NEET (UG)-2019 on May 5 in 2492 centres located in 147 cities across the country except in centres located in the state of Odisha.
