Meet this nine-year-old boy, who can tell the names of presidents of all 84 Kannada Sahitya Sammenalas held so far.
Not only the names of sammelana presidents, but he can also tell you names of all talukas of Karnataka and many villages as well.
Nikhil Vishwanath Talamari of Rodalgonda camp in Lingasguru taluk of Raichur district has already attended four sammelanas. His father Vishwanath said Nikhil has the ability to memorise anything that he reads. Three years ago, he started learning the names of presidents of sammelanas.
Many onlookers and guests who tested the memory power of Nikhil were surprised by his talent. “I like to participate in Kannada sahitya sammelanas and see writers of books. I purchased story-telling and inspirational books, which encourage me to contribute something to the motherland. I dream of joining the defence when I grow up,” Nikhil says.
Last year, the father-son duo collected money from donors to attend the sammelana held in Mysuru. “But this time, we started preparations well in advance. My son had also contributed to Kodagu flood relief fund,” Vishwanath added.
