The genesis of Dayananda Sagar University is a bold and ambitious venture sponsored by Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peeta Trust. Dayananda Sagar University, a not-for- profit entity created by an Act of the Karnataka State in 2014, built on this adorable legacy and inspired by its own milestones, meeting the needs of quality higher education in every aspect, recognized and appreciated by Universities Grant Commission (UGC). It offers programs in Engineering, Computer Applications, Health Sciences, Life Sciences, Journalism, Arts and Management at the Bachelors, Masters and PhD level.
Focusing on the future trends where India is deemed to be research and development hub of the world, University has already established Innovation laboratories in collaboration with world renowned Multi-National Companies like Autodesk-Virtual Design, Bosch Rexroth-Automation Technologies, Automotive System Lab by ETAS (BOSCH), IBM-Software Technologies, NVIDIA-Boston Innovation Lab, VMWare IT Desk, besides a world class incubation center called DERBI and a Centre of Excellence by Dassault Systems- Aerospace Engineering Lab.

The School of Engineering was established in 2015 with an objective to provide outstanding education in Engineering.The School of Engineering has highly educated and trained Faculty from other prestigious Institutions across the Country like IISc, IIT, NIT and Universities from abroad. The sole mission of these highly trained faculties is to transform students into a socially and morally obligated, technically competent Engineering Graduates and Research Scholars.
