Practical Learning and Communication Private Ltd (PECOS), a Kochi-based start-up, has developed an interactive education app as part of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan. Named 'Zixa.world', the app has primarily been designed for schools, colleges, coaching centres, online educational platforms and individuals seeking to become online educators.

According to the developers, Zixa provides the user with a school structure comprising different departments, classrooms and divisions. Teachers and students are assigned to these classrooms, ensuring that the entire process, including the collection of fees, is seamless, said the spokesperson of PECOS.

Teachers can use the app to view dashboards, take attendance, set the syllabus and time tables, besides distributing assignments, upload lessons and hold live sessions. Teachers can also conduct examinations through the app. The customisable examination module supports both objective and descriptive type of questions, besides evaluating answers and ensuring fair play during examinations. The conference room feature of the app can be used for meetings, while students will have access to a class wall to share ideas among themselves.

Apart from Zixa, there is also a specific system known as 'Axis.world'. Developed under the auspices of Startup India and Kerala Startup Mission as part of the Make in India project, 'Axis.world' is a videoconferencing app looking to step into the large business sector. It has been designed to enable videoconferencing at the lowest bandwidth with emphasis on privacy and cybersecurity.
