Union Minister of HRD Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the decision on NEET and JEE will come in a few hours. Talking to Sunil Chhetri, PV Sindhu and Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports at a virtual discussion on Fit India Movement, he added that the students have been using the NTA apps which are very popular.

The live session was bombarded with comments with the hashtag #postponeNEETJEE from students across the world. "I understand that the students are anxious about the announcement. I would urge them to be patient for a few more hours. I had tweeted yesterday that the NTA committee's decision will come today and I will announce the decision soon," he added.

India has always been a leader in not just research and education but in sports as well, said Pokhriyal. "We have never had a dearth of talent and the time has come that we grab the opportunity and go ahead and claim the first place in the world. For the next 25 years, India is going to be the youngest country in the world. I have been speaking to the students of this country daily and I wanted them to be inspired by the top sportspersons of our country," he added.

In the past few months, 2.5 lakh schools have registered under the Fit India School Programme, said Rijiju. "I think the movement has been going forward very well. Its a people's movement. Not everyone has to become a player but they can always become fit. We are also taking steps to integrate Fit India into our lives," he said. "Sports and education are complementary. PM Modi has also shared some tips. Without either life is useless. We have to club both. If the body is not fit your mind will not be fit," he added.

Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Pokhriyal said that an over-all development should be our objective. "And we had mastered that and that's how we will become Vishwaguru. We have been detached from our roots and that is about to change. The New Education Policy will change that. A fit body is also part of the revolution. PM Modi has given the call for a clean, fit and prosperous India and that will take us to that feat," he said.
