Furthering its efforts to promote Gujarat as an education hub, the Department of Education, Government of Gujarat, organised a roadshow here today which has been initiated by the state government with the objective to invite students from other states and abroad to Gujarat.

Addressing a press conference as part of the campaign Agriculture Minister of Gujarat Jaydrathsinhji Parmar said that from a place in the 1990s when students of Gujarat had to go to other states for higher education, the state has now developed institutes which cannot only accommodate students from Gujarat but also from other states and outside India.

"Keeping this in mind the state under the guidance of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has undertaken an initiative to promote Gujarat as the education hub of India," he said adding that a number of sectoral universities in the state was amongst the highest in the country giving credence to the fact that the state has ensured simultaneous development of generic as well as specialised colleges.

The Department of Education has already organised Study in Gujarat roadshows in Kuwait and Dubai earlier this month to attract more students, while in the country roadshows have been already hosted in Guwahati, Patna and Lucknow and similar exercise will be held in Hyderabad, Raipur and Nashik.
