Erode School Education Dept to study the possibility of conducting special classes for students ahead of board exams

The minister said that steps are taken to provide shoes and socks to government school students in the upcoming academic year

School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan on Wednesday said that the school education department will study the possibilities for conducting special classes for students ahead of board exams and the timetable for the exams will be announced after getting consent from the Chief Minister.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of an event in Gobichettipalayam he said that steps are taken to provide shoes and socks to government school students in the upcoming academic year. "Sofar laptops have been given to 52.47 each worth Rs 15, 250. And efforts are taken to provide tabs for to three lakh students studying in classes 6 to 8 in government schools," he added.

The minister distributed welfare assistance including bonus to as many as 454 members of milk producers cooperative society and free goats to194 beneficiaries at the cost of Rs 29.47 lakh. He said that additional one crore crop credit has been allocated for the Elathur milk producers cooperative society and a lake spread across 100 acres in Elathur has been distributed under the Athikkadavu-Avinashi project and water will be filled. The minister also distributed free bicycles to as many as 700 students studying in the government school in Vellankovil, Muruganpudur, Karattipalayam in Gobichettipalayam constituency.
