To avoid unfair means being used during the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to offer fresh masks to the candidates before they enter the venue. The instructions to the candidates mentioned in the also mention that social distancing measures will be maintained during the exams and gap between the seats will be maintained as per the government standards.

The instructions mention that the candidates will have to remove the mask they had brought from home and will have to wear the mask provided at the centre. "The candidate will be offered a fresh three-ply mask before entry. In order to stop chances of any UFM (unfair means) being used in the examination, the candidate is expected to wear the freshly provided mask at the centre. The candidate will be required to remove the mask worn by him or her from home and use the mask provided at the centre only," it added.

The days when candidates handed over their admit cards and rough sheets to the invigilator are over. "The candidate must drop the Admit Card and Rough Sheets in the advised boxes after displaying to the staff available next to dropbox. If any candidate misses dropping their Admit Card or Rough Sheets in boxes, action (which also includes disqualification from the exam) can be taken against him," it added.

Before each shift starts and after last shift of the candidate, the seating area will be "thoroughly sanitised", said the instructions. The monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, desk and the chair will be sanitised, it added. Candidates can further sanitise these with the sanitisers that will be available in the examination lab, room or hall. The candidate can also bring 50 ml of sanitiser with them along with their stationery and water. "Candidates will be required to sanitize hands by washing with soap and with Hand Sanitiser before entry in the centre. Hand sanitiser will be available at various locations in the centre," said the instructions.

The students also have to digitally sign a declaration stating whether they have had any symptoms of COVID0-19 in the past 14 days. But they have to sign the declaration while obtaining their admit card, a month before the examination. They also have to specify if they have been in contact with a COVID-19 patient or had travelled to other states.
