The National Council of CBSE schools has handed over a memorandum to Union Human Resources Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank listing the problems faced by CBSE schools at both national and state level.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs V Muralidharan also attended the event. The problems highlighted were the renewal of affiliation, the discrimination students face while computing marks and the lack of representation in sports activities at the national level. The demands also include imparting refresher courses, assisting the teachers to upgrade their skills, reconsidering the new directions issued regarding the students' practicals and bringing in changes in the arts and culture sector. Suggestions by schools on the draft report of the National Education Policy 2019 were analysed by experts from various states.
A team led by secretary-general Dr Indira Rajan submitted the report. Other members include national council vice-presidents Ashutosh Tripathi (Madhya Pradesh), Babu Panicker (Delhi) and Council of CBSE schools (Kerala) general secretary Suchithra Shijith.
