China is synonymous with the 'c' word. No, we are not talking about Coronavirus, we are talking about censorship. Not just pornographic content, but even controversial topics are banned. It was on January 20, 1999 that further restrictions on news and information were announced and thus, the title Great Firewall of China was truly earned. Also, internet police is a real job in China.

As recent as January 8, 2021, a new draft of internet regulations was put out by Beijing for the review of the public. The new draft has triple the words and double the articles when compared to the last regulation. Phew! These new articles address problems such as internet fraud.

We are all in this together!
January 20, 2006 is the day when Disney movie lovers were treated to High School Musical, the movie that was first in its series to capture the minds and hearts of all teens and tweens alike. It had the perfect combinations of songs, actors and plot and indeed, delivered what was a fun-watch about basketball, music and following one's heart. It also gave us stars like Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. This musical romantic comedy-drama became a franchise the third movie of which received a premier in the theatres.
