This education consultancy has figured out the secret to studying abroad

Leadz Study Abroad has found a way to focus solely on the academic abilities of students

What's keeping you from grabbing the opportunity to get the education you deserve from where you want to get it from? A window of opportunity. Leadz Study Abroad, a consultancy service with a difference has found a shortcut to this window that helps you get through the series of barriers that can get in the way. Established Ranesh Mohammed, the company works with 4 other directors, Remo Correya, Jaisal AK, Mohammad Raffi and Pacino Cyril.

The company first came to life in 2014 in a small space in Kozhikode. Initially, they had no work of their own but would provide their services in support with other consultancies. "It was all a hustle when we started out," says Remo Correya. "Students came to us through Google searches and other recommendations." In 2017, they shifted to a new location and established their first centre in Kochi.

"The idea was to do something different to attract students," explains Remo, adding, "Everyone just sticks to a specific university and works solely in accordance to their rules. What we came to realise through research of our own is that a lot of these universities which give scholarships to students and are backed by companies which will sponsor the students. There are countries like Italy where students can get a stipend ever year for studying. They could be doing a Bachelor or PG programme and get his fees reduced to around 2000 Euros with their tuition fees cut down to around 50 per cent.

Many countries offer open applications to international students. Leadz partners with public universities in these countries in order to provide students with the best scholarship programmes that are available to them. In Germany, the consultancy works with over 15 public universities where there are no tuition fees to be paid and the only criteria is your academics. "Students don't seem to know enough about countries like Germany, France, Belgium, Austria or the Netherlands where there are public scholarships available. and they have a budget that they keep aside for education."

What Leadz has come to symbolise is this opportunity to use your academic abilities to your benefit. Initially supposed to be a side project, the scholarship programmes aim to support students who are willing to put the work in. Remo says, "The scholarship programmes that we focus on are specifically for students who are academically ahead and they get through solely because of their own merit. In each of these countries, there are education portals where you can check for scholarships for a student to apply. Our most important aim is to attract good students. These are students who plan to study in a good school in India or find a good university abroad and pay in full. We are offering them a better alternative."

It is around the average students that their numbers truly lie. "We needed to figure out a way to help all students," answers Remo. "That's where we use portals and companies to find universities where the minimum cutoff is 65 per cent and give students their options." Following this, they calculate the budget and waive off how much ever they can for the students. This is a testament to the way Leadz has come to work, at least if the students they have worked with can be taken for their word. "If nothing else, I feel that our drive is what sets us apart from other companies. Our entire approach is to have fun in this process. We make sure that we prioritise the student over anything else."
