Despite the increasing cost of education, the Sindhi Group of Institutions continues to impart quality education without donations and at an affordable cost. Established in 1956, the Sindhi Seva Samiti runs around nine educational institutions including Sindhi High School, Sindhi School, the PU college, the degree college, School of Management Studies, the evening PU and degree college, Sindhi Seva School and Sindhi Academy of Skills. They have over 6,000 students studying in their institutions.
Sindhi College is one of the most important educational institutions of the Samiti, located at the heart of Bengaluru city. It nurtures students to attain excellence by providing holistic education. Dr B S Srikanta, Principal, Sindhi College, says, "Students are our cultural ambassadors and the college aims to provide holistic education by focusing on the overall development of the students by taking care of their contemporary needs."
Sindhi College, which was established in 2002, is accredited by NAAC. The college has also been recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under 2(F) and 12(B), and is an ISO 9001-2015 certified institution. They have also been certified as the 'Best Emerging Private College in Karnataka' and listed among the top 20 promising colleges in Bengaluru. The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure, conducive to nurturing creativity and innovative instincts, and is equipped with a library with over 20,000 books and several online journals. In fact, provisions have been made for SC/ST students to access more books and journals too. The college has spacious classrooms with LCD projectors. The auditorium and audio-visual room are well-furnished and air-conditioned with all modern-day amenities. The indoor sports stadium meets international standards. Apart from this, the college has well-equipped laboratories.
In order to support the students financially, the college management is benevolent in extending life insurance benefit to them. Not only the meritorious students, but the needy, children of defence personnel, backward class, SC/ST and sports achievers too can avail scholarships. With research being an integral part of the college, research instincts among teachers and students are encouraged by funding research projects. They have 40 experienced teachers who are highly qualified, while 15 of them have PhDs and 17 have MPhil degrees.
