Students of a private engineering college near Karwar have come up with models that can generate fuel out of waste plastic and seeds. The fuel-making models were an attraction at the exhibition. To exhibit their talent, GSIT college in Majali near Karwar had organised 'Project Exhibition' in their college premises on Monday.

In the exhibition, final semester engineering students came up with 22 models related to mechanical, civil, electronics and communication, and computer science. Students of mechanical engineering prepared a model that generates fuel after melting plastic waste in a closed boilers.

The model with zero pollution was one of the main attraction in the exhibition. Another group of students come up with biofuel making machine by using biofuel seeds which are available in surrounding areas. They said fuel is one of the important commodity for everyone in these years. As the underground fuel storage is near to end, it is the need of the hour to produce their own fuel and it is a new challenge for every country. Keeping this, they have come out with fuel making models.

Students from the Mechanical department exhibited 10 models, from Civil 8, Electronics and Communication 3 and Computer Science students came up with one model.
