Containing all the energy of a typical ten-year-old, Samrat Singh explains the working of Quiz App to me. He has designed and developed at least 20 apps before this, but this time, he put on his innovator's hat to help out his teachers. As the name suggests, the app is used for teachers to conduct quizzes and grade their students.

Samrat is a fifth-grader in EuroSchool, Bengaluru. "I made this app to help my teachers after they started taking classes online. In this app, you can add and edit questions and options. You can also add scores to particular answers," he says. The Android app allows its users to enter a set of questions and answers. It takes care of the formatting, navigation and calculates scores automatically.

We sought the amount of time that it took him to develop the app and the answer left us surprised. "It took me three hours," says Samrat who is now working on developing a version 2.0 of the app. "In the new version, the answer will come with its explanation," he says. He also tells us that his teachers have already started using the app and that they love it!

Samrat, who has been learning coding since Grade III, says that he spends four hours every day doing it. But if you think that this takes away from his playtime, you are wrong. He says that every day, he plays with his friends for at least an hour. The first app that he developed was an apple picking game, back in third grade. "I learnt app developing from YouTube tutorials," says Samrat who says that he wants to be an innovator and solve two big problems that India faces right now — traffic jams and pollution.
