Luckily enough, Goutham Vincent, a native of Alappuzha, reached home from Chennai two days before the lockdown was announced. Being a music composer, Goutham felt weird to stay away from the piano keys. So he decided to release covers of popular hits by collaborating with friends - which stormed social media and were shared by musician P Unnikrishnan and Malayalam lyricist Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma.
Discussing how it started, Goutham says, "Staying at home, I wanted to do something productive. So, I decided to compose cover songs with friends. We posted the video on Facebook and Instagram. Collaboration requests flooded our inbox. Hence, we decided to take it one step forward."

And what was that step? "A poster was made to invite collaborations. The interested individual can send their song to our mail for the audition. We will check it and contact the person. Maintaining the song quality is equally important, right?" he asks. Sharing the next step, Goutham adds, "The singer can choose a song. Once we are ready, we record it."
But how is it possible when the singer is miles away? Well, none of us are living under rocks. Though it is unstable, we all have an internet connection per se. "The singer has to record the song and send it to us. I will play the background music for the same. Once it is done, the mixing and mastering are done by my friends Job Abraham and Alan Joseph," shares the 23-year-old. The trio, together owns a home studio, Space Hub Productions in Chennai. The video editing work is done by a friend Xavier Joseph. "Using optimum resources, we are trying to give our best," he smiles.

A student of popular musician Hentry Kuruvila who is prominently known for his work with AR Rahman, Goutham has been in the field of music for a decade now. "Though I completed my Commerce degree, my heart was into music always and was a prominent member among the school and college bands. Hence I decided to take it up as my profession," he says and concludes, "I have composed almost 20 songs, 4 devotional and a list of cover songs of which I don't have a count."
