Avid readers often boast of consuming the content of many good books over the years. But there are still so many books out there that are waiting to be discovered. Excited by the idea, aren't you? Vowelor is a platform that can help you find these yet-to-be-read books through their unbiased reviews and it could also help you connect with fellow book lovers and budding authors. The journey of Vowelor is a story that deserves a book of its own and it goes something like this.

A few years ago, Lalit Sharma and Manik Ghawri, Co-founders of Vowelor, started a Facebook group called Books, Blogs, Readers and Writers through which readers can connect with each other and discuss various books. Within a short span of time, the group saw thousands discussing must-read books and even guiding budding authors on how to go about publishing their work. That's when the duo thought about starting a dedicated website. "Vowelor’s tagline is 'Why read alone?'. Until Vowelor was launched in 2017, there was no simple and straightforward platform where readers could connect with each other. Being readers ourselves, we understood the difficulties of connecting with other book lovers. This website was designed keeping in mind the challenges that readers might come across," says Manik, adding, "As many as 50,000 new users started joining us every month and we did not even market ourselves! Looking at the response, we felt that there was no better time to launch our app. We launched the Vowelor app in 2018."

What's on the app?
This app has a wide range of features and serves as a world full of books for readers. Manik explains, "Whenever a reader downloads our app, we ask them to create a library of their own and add books which they have already read so that others can refer to this and maybe read those too. The reader can also see real-time data, like the number of people reading the same book at the same time. They can connect with fellow-readers using the chat option on the app and send queries they have regarding any book. Finding the 'next read' is another important feature available on our app. The books that are recommended to readers are based on the kinds of books they have searched for and what they have read."

Creating your own book club is another interesting feature of the app. Readers can join communities that are discussing books or genres they wants to talk about. Alternatively, they can create their own book club and invite others to join. Currently, there are over 250 book clubs on the app. There is another section where readers can get the latest updates on new book releases and articles like 'Grammarly versus Ginger' and so on. The Vowelor app has garnered overwhelming responses as it has recorded 15,000 downloads and 50,000 books which have been added to the shelves. Lalit and Manik are working on a few new plans for the future. Since the app is available only on the Google Play store, they are working to make it accessible for iPhone users too. In addition to this, they want to connect with various publishers so that readers also have access to e-books through the platform.
