This 20-year-old from Kolkata is behind the viral and cute Instagram account 'Shreya doodles'

Shreya has always attempted to see the humour in everything. While you see a cat, Shreya Kundu sees a thought bubble above it with sassy comments like, 'People say cats have no feelings, but we do. Feelings of hatred, superiority, possessiveness...those are feelings too'. The 20-year-old then promptly sketches it in a notebook she always keeps handy or on her iPad. This is how her Instagram account shreyadoodles started, with sheer spontaneity, and it still runs on the same steam even after a year. "I just wanted to share my kind of humour with the world," says the girl from Kolkata.

The expert: Though Shreya isn't sure of what she wants to be in the future, she surely wants to carry on doodling

Indeed, Shreya's humour is singularly hers. With simple drawings that often depict cats (her favourite), dogs or humans — every comic strip delivers a punchline that is either funny, sarcastic or both, all focused on expressing what she finds funny. Shreya, who has around 58,500 followers on Instagram, remains unperturbed by trolls online. "I just think to myself, 'They must be having a bad day.' After all, we all have days when we lash out blindly at others, don't we?" she points out. So it is never the trolls that stress her out, it is something else.

Apart from art: Shreya likes to cook, read funny blogs and books and watch sitcoms

"Exams are what really stress me out," says this ailurophile (a cat lover), who has designed a few comics for a gaming company, logos and other creatives in the past. But for now, everything is on hold for this University of Calcutta student. She feels frustrated sometimes because of this, but nonetheless, she tries to maintain the frequency of her posts (once every three to four days). Shreya was even invited to speak at a college in Delhi, but had to turn it down because of, yes, you guessed right... exams! But Shreya remains hopeful that one day, when she has the time, she will observe more, draw more and eat more momos.
