At a glance, Sachin Sagare's paintings appear to be copies of each other, given they emerge from the same colour palette. But look closely and they are as different as the women thus painted. The colours that dominate are red, turmeric and charcoal. What catches the viewer's attention is the beauty of the women celebrated with much simplicity. The artist depicts their daily routine through various hues.

The paintings announce flamboyance, yet are amalgamated with a sort of serenity that seems to flow from their lines and dots. They go about their tasks smoothly yet their bodies are caught in a deep resonance. The presence of birds and flowers lends vivacity to the works while the finesse is evident in the swift sweeps of brush strokes.

The artist hails from Sholapur, Maharashtra and the women in his opuses are from his town. He shares, “I wanted to paint women from the working class. Then I decided to mix sophistication in the paintings. They might all look similar, but if one looks closely, the difference is there and each woman is different from one another.”

Works of art: His paintings radiate serenity and skill with masterful appreciation and detail of his subjects

In all, there are 22 works of art. Sometimes the artist deviates from his bright colour choices and takes on the canvases painted sea-blue or hazel-green. They provide serenity amid a riot of colours, thus balancing the warmth and coolness of the artist’s imagination. Another interesting aspect of the exhibition is that the women are shown in groups as if moving forward, understanding each other problems in silence. A silence that speaks.

The flame of life burns brightly through the canvases that adorn the walls of Art Walk Way, Park Hyatt. Titled 'Tellurian' the art exhibition will be on till November 19. Gallery Space has collaborated with the luxury hotel for the exhibition.
