College! The most cherished time of life itself to many! I’m sure that many of you might have heard “Enjoy this phase of life or you’ll repent later” and similar such advice from
elders. Trust me! It’s completely true. In fact, during my college days, when my parents, family members or any of my older friends would tell me something similar, I’d laugh at them and would cite the assignments, projects, studies, attendance and other COLLEGE WOES and would reply saying that life’s much better when we’re earning and settled... BOY! WAS I WRONG!
This pandemic has definitely driven us nuts. There’s only so much that you can do using online apps and I’m sure that most of you will be yearning to meet your college buddies and hang out now that colleges are about to reopen... BUT! The UGC has given strict guidelines to ensure that students are safe. So how do we still keep the COLLEGE SPIRIT alive amidst these rules? Well I’ve done my best to map out some cool ways to follow these guidelines while still keeping the CAMPUS ALIVE.
Physical distancing
Well, that means NO BEARHUGS, NO FISTBUMPS & NO HIGH FIVES. So what! Why don’t we do an air high five from afar, show a heart sign with our hands and you can always do a dab and keep things
rocking.
Use of face covers and masks
Yup! If I were you, I’d let my CREATIVE SIDE GO WILD and spruce up the masks with art. But ensure that you’re not putting up anything that’s offensive or that could hurt anyone’s sentiments.
Washing hands
Whether it’s visibly dirty or not it’s a good practice to follow. I know how lazy most of you chaps are and at least this way it’ll prevent you all from touching surfaces unnecessarily or leaning on railings.
Appiness
Though it is emphasised and in a way mandated to use the Aarogya Setu app, you can install a ton of other apps along with it. There are a lot of games that allow many players to play together. Had you ever imagined that there would come a day when people who love you would actually ask you to be more active on social media and use your phones!
A strict NO NO, avoid physical contact irrespective of how close your pals are. It’s for your own good as you just can’t be sure of anyone’s whereabouts.
Avoid passing on your phones, pens, keys, stationery or anything for that matter. In case it’s inevitable, please sanitise the same and then use it after a couple of minutes.
In case you need to borrow your friend’s vehicles, ensure that you sanitise it and make it your responsibility to SANITISE IT AGAIN before handing it back.
Yes! There are some minor adjustments that we need to make to ensure that we all are safe and healthy.
