Here’s why self-doubt is a big downer and can become an obstacle in attaining your true potential
One possible reason for the youth to have self-doubt is that they are not aware of their true potential. Low self-esteem could possibly be yet another reason for this
The majority of the young graduates and youth who aspire to make successful careers for themselves are often caught up in a web of self-doubt, which costs them very dearly. The journey towards success starts with an empowering positive attitude.
I am able to witness this in all young graduates, irrespective of whether they belong to the city or rural areas. Despite possessing valid educational credentials, they often come a cropper when they come across career openings. Many of the graduates also lack confidence, which in turn makes them very vulnerable to failures.
One possible reason for the youth to have self-doubt is that they are not aware of their true potential. Low self-esteem could possibly be yet another reason for this. Moreover, many fear the prospect of meeting professional expectations. Over and above all these factors, I find that many are very lethargic to work on themselves; they remain within their shell waiting for someone to lead them. Whatever be the reason, the youth must realise that the world today is fast-paced and good opportunities do not present themselves twice.
It is entirely upon the individuals to come to terms with the scenario and act appropriately so that they are able to make the best out of whatever opportunities they get.
Any placement interview or selection process will go on to test the skills and potential of the prospective candidate in terms of their confidence, alertness, presence of mind, communication, team working capabilities, initiative, problem-solving approach and leadership to mention a few, apart from the basic educational qualifications. How can a person with self-doubt emerge successful if they poorly showcase themselves in all the above-mentioned aspects?
It is time that the young graduates condition their minds so as to do away with the smallest hint of self-doubt within themselves and carry themselves very positively in a professional career environment. This is the only way that they can grow.
