With the world moving towards technology, the job landscape is also undergoing a tremendous transformation, in terms of requirements expected from candidates seeking employment opportunities. It is no secret to note that technology is beginning to replace human effort in many areas and this trend is going to increase particularly in the industrial and corporate scenario in the years to come. Many studies indicate that most of the job portfolios are eaten away by technology that shrinks workspace and are certainly redefining the job environment in a considerable manner.

As a human resource mentor, I must point out a new dimension is emerging in terms of assessing intelligence and the personality trait of individuals, particularly in terms of professional job setting.
We are mobbing from the era of ‘IQ-Intelligent Quotient’ and ‘EQ-Emotional Quotient’, to that of ‘AQ-Adaptability Quotient’ for which we need to prepare ourselves adequately. Adaptability Quotient is also a human quotient that indicates the readiness of a person to be flexible, showcases their curiosity level, their willingness to move up and down, and finally skills in problem-solving.

The new-age adaptability quotient will soon emerge as the key area assessment tool for candidates aspiring to take up challenging career options in modern corporate and industrial establishments. The shift of the employers and recruiters are also very evident from the fact that they are all looking at newer evaluation methods and approaches to select their potential employees who could be much closer to their expectations based on industry stipulations in tune with the time. The onus is now upon the candidates, especially fresh graduates to shape up themselves in accordance with the modern day requirement in order to keep their jobs.

Global talent acquisition managers are looking for candidates with talent, technical expertise and the mindset to work in flexible conditions. They are also looking for skill sets that are inclined towards innovation and continuous learning that will keep them in pace with the changes that are taking place around them in a professional environment.
