The Education Department of the Government of Sikkim has opened the online application process for the State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026 for in-service regular teachers, probationary teachers and instructors. The registration window opened on August 24, 2026, and eligible candidates can submit their applications online until September 12, 2026, by 4 pm. Candidates securing 60% or more will be considered to have passed STET. A 5% relaxation in marks is applicable to SC, ST and Central and State OBC candidates

How to apply for Sikkim TET 2026? 

Step 1: Visit the official website i.e., www.tet.sikkim.gov.in.

Step 2: Register through a valid email ID and mobile number.

Step 3: Fill out the Sikkim TET application form with personal, educational, and contact details.

Step 4: Upload the scanned documents of the required documents, such as a passport-sized photograph and signature.

Step 5: Pay the application fee through credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.

Step 6: Submit the Sikkim TET 2026 application form and download it for future reference.

Documents required for STET Application form 2026

Applicants should keep the following documents and details ready before filling out the form:

  • Scanned/digital photograph

  • Scanned signature

  • Scanned professional degree/diploma certificate

  • Scanned photo ID proof such as COI, Aadhaar, Voter ID or Driving Licence

  • Working email ID and mobile number

Sikkim TET Eligibility Criteria 2026

For the Primary level, candidates must meet one of the prescribed combinations of senior secondary education and teacher-training qualifications, including a two-year D.El.Ed., four-year B.El.Ed. or two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education), with the required marks. For unreserved candidates, the minimum marks specified are generally 50%, while a 45% threshold applies to SC, ST and OBC candidates under the notification.

For the Graduate level, eligible qualifications include a B.A./B.Sc. with the required marks along with a two-year D.El.Ed. or B.Ed., among other combinations such as B.El.Ed. and four-year integrated teacher-education degrees.

Only teacher-education diploma or degree courses recognised by NCTE will be considered. For Special Education qualifications, the course must be recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
