Visakhapatnam: TDP state President and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao conducted a surprise inspection at the Government High School in Gangavaram under the Gajuwaka constituency on Wednesday, focusing on the mid-day meal programme, school infrastructure and teaching standards. During the visit, he sampled the mid-day meal to assess its quality and interacted with students to gather feedback on the food and related issues. He asked students to inform teachers and parents if they faced any problems with the meals. Addressing the staff, he warned negligence affecting students' health would not be tolerated.
Palla directed that a designated teacher should inspect the meal every day after preparation and ensure its quality before it is served. He emphasised the need for regular monitoring of the programme. He also called for greater parental involvement, urging the use of the LEAP app to register feedback and complaints.
Officials were instructed to put in place a system for periodic feedback from parents through IVRS. The MLA reviewed teaching standards, student attendance, infrastructure and sanitation at the school, and asked teachers to work towards ensuring quality education. He added that maintaining consistent standards in education and facilities is essential to build public confidence in government schools.
