The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has introduced a new admission route for the academic year 2026-27, allowing eligible Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) graduates to enter the final year of Engineering/Technology programmes directly.
Unlike the conventional Direct Second Year (lateral entry) route, this programme has a one-year duration. The initiative is aimed at candidates who have completed B.Voc and want to pursue a B.E./B.Tech qualification in an appropriate engineering or technology discipline.
According to the admission notice, the online registration window is open from August 20 to August 31, 2026. Candidates must complete document verification and confirmation of their applications between August 20 and September 1, 2026.
The admission notice lists the following basic eligibility conditions: -
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
The candidate must have passed B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocation).
Candidates must also satisfy any additional eligibility conditions or requirements prescribed by the competent authority from time to time.
The programme is open to Maharashtra State Candidature candidates, All India Candidature candidates, and Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh migrant candidature candidates, as specified in the notice.
The introduction of this route gives B.Voc graduates an opportunity to move into the final year of an engineering or technology degree instead of starting a conventional four-year B.E./B.Tech programme from the beginning.
With registrations already underway, eligible B.Voc graduates should complete the application and document-verification process within the prescribed deadlines.
