

The much-awaited Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 2 kicks off today across India. Candidates appearing for the exam are advised to carefully follow instructions to ensure a smooth and hassle-free examination experience.
The JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 (April session) will be conducted from April 2 to April 8, 2026. Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is scheduled on April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, while Paper 2A/2B (B.Arch/B.Planning) will take place on April 7. The exams will be held across India and in 15 international cities.
The JEE (Main) 2026 admit card is the mandatory document to appear for the exam. Candidates should double-check the details such as the Date of Examination, Shift and Timings of the Test, Venue of the Test Centre, Reporting Time at Centre, Gate Closing Time on their Admit Card before leaving for the exam centre.
It is recommended that candidates visit the examination centre in advance to familiarize themselves with the location and travel arrangements. Those not registered via Aadhaar or using non-Aadhaar authentication must report at least one hour before the gate closing time for biometric verification.
Candidates must carry the following to the exam centre:
Admit Card (clear colour printout on A4 paper)
Two passport-sized photographs (one to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet)
Valid Photo ID proof (original; photocopies or images on mobile devices are not accepted)
PwD/PwBD certificate, if applicable, for availing scribe or other facilities
Geometry box set, pencils, erasers, and colour pencils for B.Arch candidates (Drawing Test)
Prohibited items:
Mobile phones, electronic gadgets
calculators
watches
handbags
stationery
paper
eatables (except for diabetic candidates)
any metallic items
Candidates must complete Aadhaar biometric verification at entry.
Sign, paste the photograph, and provide the left-hand thumb impression on the Attendance Sheet.
The exam is computer-based; ensure the question paper corresponds to your opted subject and medium.
Blank A4 sheets for rough work will be provided; write your name and roll number and submit them before leaving the hall.
For B.Arch candidates, watercolours are not permitted on the drawing sheet.
Candidates falling under the PwD/PwBD category will be provided with necessary facilities during the examination. Those with physical limitations that affect their ability to write will be granted compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour to ensure a fair and accessible testing environment.
