Puducherry: In view of the upcoming Assembly elections, the Puducherry administration has announced an additional day of holiday for all schools in the Union Territory on April 6, thereby leading to a 10 day holiday for students from April 3 to 10.
Earlier, a four-day holiday had been scheduled from April 7 to April 10. However, School Education Department Joint Director VG Sivagami announced an additional holiday on April 6 as per the directions of the Election Commission.
Officials clarified that there will be no changes to other academic schedules. Students who have been shortlisted to appear for the CBSE board public examinations must attend their exams as per the prescribed dates without any alteration.
