New Delhi: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Delhi has launched the 'My DU, My Manifesto' campaign ahead of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, inviting students to share their concerns, expectations and suggestions, the student organisation said on Monday.
The inputs received through the campaign will be incorporated into ABVP's forthcoming student manifesto, it added.
The DUSU elections are scheduled to be held on September 18, while counting of votes will take place on September 19.
Under the initiative, students can share their views through a QR code as well as with ABVP volunteers conducting the campaign across various DU colleges.
ABVP said the manifesto should reflect the "real needs, experiences and aspirations" of students rather than being drafted solely by student organisations.
"Our manifesto should not be a document decided by a select few. Through 'My DU, My Manifesto', we seek to reach out to every student and understand what they consider to be the most pressing issue at the University of Delhi and what changes they wish to see in their university," ABVP Delhi state secretary Sarthak Sharma said.
The organisation said it would study the suggestions received from students and seek to translate them into practical and student-centric policy proposals.
"Our manifesto will be a reflection of the voices of students, their priorities, and their aspirations for the future," Sharma said.
The campaign comes ahead of the DUSU elections, which are expected to see participation from various student organisations across the university.
