A JEE Advanced 2025 candidate has approached the Delhi High Court alleging severe disruptions during both sessions of the exam, prompting the court to demand clarifications from the organising institute and other authorities. The entrance exam was conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur on May 18.

As reported by Times Now, the petition, filed under the case name 'Sanidhya Saluja through his Natural Guardian (Father) Sh. Sudhir Saluja vs Union of India and Ors', accuses the test centre of failing to provide a fair examination environment.

Allegedly, the student faced a flickering, dim computer screen during the first session from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm, making it difficult to read questions. In the second session, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, a large lizard reportedly kept reappearing near his workstation, a distraction that authorities allegedly failed to resolve despite trying to remove the reptile three times.

According to Times Now, the student contends that the disturbances compromised his performance and has requested that his JEE Main scores be considered instead as a benchmark for admission purposes.

Hearing the plea, Justice Vikas Mahajan instructed the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the Central Government to file a short affidavit outlining the protocols governing JEE Advanced.

“In case the respondent considers the said information to be confidential... the same may be placed in a sealed cover,” the judge added.

Times Now reports that the affidavit is expected to shed light on whether IIT Kanpur followed due exam procedures in this instance.
