Internships frequently spark debate online, with many criticising these large corporate giants for exploiting eager freshers or students by offering experience certificates in exchange for unpaid labour.

A recent post from an internship seeker has gone viral on social media after the user shared a screenshot of one of the questions from an application form, reported Times of India.

The post which has garnered more than 13.7M views, is another saga of an exasperated college fellow, and for them, such a question holds no relevance with professionalism whatsoever.

The post sparked widespread outrage on social media platform X, with users flooding the comments section to criticise the company for asking "absurd" and "bizarre" questions designed to confuse candidates.

Satire and humour
One user humorously remarked, "Ever since I was a small kid, I dreamed of creating shareholder value," while another commented, "I was born as a very young child."

Some users cautioned that if a company uses a Google Form for applications, it may not be a good sign.

Others shared experiences of being asked similar irrelevant questions during their internship search, with one user expressing frustration over companies like L'Oreal, Nivea, and Mondelez asking about childhood experiences and values, questioning the significance of such questions and whether companies read responses from hundreds of applicants, from more than 20 colleges.

The necessity
One of the users, who is a recruiter, explained that such random questions are included in application forms to filter out candidates who lack enthusiasm and are simply submitting forms without understanding the role. They stated that these questions often become a key factor in the selection process.
