On Wednesday, January 3, the district administration in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj announced that the secondary schools of all the boards will remain closed till January 6. This comes amid the rains and cold wave conditions in the district.
An order issued by the administration read, "In view of the outbreak of rain and cold waves in the district, keeping in mind the safety and health of the students, as per the order of the District Magistrate, teaching work will be suspended in the secondary schools of all the boards till January 6."
Further, the order by District School Inspector, Prayagraj, PN Singh stated that the principal, all teachers and non-teaching staff will remain present in the school during the said period and carry out government work. Meanwhile, the district administration in Lucknow also announced the closure of schools for students of Class I to Class VII till January 6 on January 5 given the cold wave in the state.
