Ending the concerns for lakhs of students, who will appear for the Class 10, 12 Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations in 2021, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced on Thursday that the board will release the date sheet on February 2, 2021. "After discussing with the CBSE chairperson, we have decided to release the detailed date sheet for CBSE exams 2021 on February 2," Pokhriyal said while speaking virtually at an event to interact with presidents and secretaries of CBSE Sahodaya school complexes at 2 pm on January 28, 2021.

Pokhriyal added that CBSE teachers are warriors who will help in meeting the vision documented in the National Education Policy. "CBSE board will take the NEP forward. I have immense faith in our students and teachers to help us implement the NEP across the country," he added.

Pokhriyal, stressing on the importance of regional language added, "Regional language as a medium of instruction in primary education, as mentioned in the NEP, will be uniformly implemented across all Indian schools. Even before pre-primary school, at the level of Anganwadis, we must inculcate values among the students and help to bring out students' potential."

He also added that the provisions of Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) in the NEP, will allow students to continue their education even after a gap. He spoke on how JEE, NEET exams were conducted and lauded educational institutes for conducting examinations on time and teachers who checked the answer sheets and helped to announce the result on time.
